About Florida Coastal School of Law

Established in 1996, Florida Coastal School of Law provides students with award-winning practical training, a supportive faculty, and a culturally diverse body of peers. The National Jurist included Florida Coastal School of Law on its honor roll of best institutions for hands-on training. As a graduation requirement, all students participate in pro bono legal work on behalf of the community, which results in tens of thousands of hours of practical training and community involvement annually.

Florida Coastal School of Law (FCSL) also boasts some of the best competitive teams in the nation. For two of the last three years, its moot court program ranked the top in the nation. In the past decade, the moot court program has won 25 national competitions. Students also have the chance to participate on a mock trial team.

INSIGHT Into Diversity recognized FCSL with its Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award, which highlights the fact that about 50 percent of the student body is comprised of minority students. In contrast, minorities account for only 13 percent of legal professionals overall. The diversity at FCSL exposes students to a range of opinions and viewpoints as they prepare for their careers.

FCSL offers rolling admissions for both full- and part-time JD programs so that students can apply for and commence their studies at their convenience. The institution also provides several certificate and LLM programs to help students delve into particular legal fields, including the institution’s unique LLM in logistics and transportation. Students can also earn an MPP or MBA alongside their JD in only four years through a partnership with Jacksonville University.
